Rant, rant, rant, rant, rant...

This is meant to be taken seriously.
Because I'm being 100% serious here.
So, Cole, that means if you post anything resembling, "lol. That was hilarious." after this, I will ban your ass, and you won't be welcome back.

1) As I'm sure you're all aware, WE ARE EFFING LACKING PARTICIPATION IN MOST OF OUR RPGs.
The funny thing about this?
The person who last complained to me about a lack of participation? Yeah, she hasn't - you know - participated in ANY of them except Redemption and Harry Potter.
It's like... you guys don't even TRY any more.
You could complain that I control the stories too much in the other RPGs, but do you want to know WHY I control the stories?
Because NONE OF YOU EVER TRY. The last time I was like, "Okay... You guys can have a turn with the story." we dilly-dallyed for two pages over the course of a week in X-Men.
I mean - every once in a while - Sam chimes in with an epic storyline, but most of the time.. she doesn't.
As far as I know, you're all content with dilly-dallying ALL DAY LONG in those RPGs if I don't scour my brain for my very last bit of creativity to come up with an uninspired storyline that makes a BIT of sense to keep our characters busy.
I don't know WHY you guys don't participate... I mean, I'm even doing a frickin' RECAP THREAD, so you guys can stay UP TO DATE with the RPGs.
If you DON'T start participating in the other RPGs SOON - I'm giving you guys another three days, tops - then I'm going to delete them, and - pretty soon - we'll only be left with Redemption, X-Men, and Harry Potter.
That's it.
No more Assassins.
No more L.A.
No more Origins.
No more Ultimate.
No more Fantasy.

2)
One thing that REALLY bugs me - and I mean REALLY bugs me - is when people's post's lack DEPTH of any sort.
I mean, MOST of the roleplayers around here are good with that sort of thing: they're posts have - you know - DEPTH. But it is one of the reasons that it takes seven pages for a family to get out of the car, sit down at a table, and order ice cream is a lack of depth in posts.
Yeah, I'm sure none of you know what I mean.

THIS is a post that lacks depth:

Bob: *draws his sword*

And that's the whole post.

Another example is:

Bob: "How are you, Jim?"
Jim: "I'm good, Bob."

NOTHING HAPPENED IN EITHER OF THOSE POSTS, AND - HENCE - THOSE POSTS DID NOT BENEFIT THE RPG IN ANY WAY.

A post that has SOME sort of would be:

Bob: *draws his sword* *charges at Philip and slashes downwards*
Philip: *blocks Philip's slash and grunts* *staggers backwards*
Bob: *kicks Philip's shins*
Philip: *grunts and drops his sword*

Another example would be:

Bob: *walks down the street and spots Jim* *waves* "How are you, Jim?"
Jim: *stops and waves back* "I'm good, Bob."
Bob: "Lovely weather we're having, right?"
Jim: "Yup... Lovely weather."

Something happened in BOTH of those posts.

Guys, PLEASE try to give your posts some DEPTH.
We're on at the same time rarely enough as it is, so MAKE IT COUNT, or else we won't get ANYTHING DONE...
I mean, it's cool if your posts are short and sweet every ONCE in awhile, but every single post?
No.

Like I said, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE.

3) My FINAL complaint is a lack of motivation and a presence of randomness for characters and villains. Once again, this doesn't apply to everyone. One of my examples from this actually comes from me in Redemption:
Sak finding out that Milly smoked pot and getting really mad at her for it.

WHAT THE HELL?
It was SO RANDOM and served absolutely NO purpose. It was just... it was SO DUMB. WHY did Sak get mad?
Well, she saw her student smoking pot, so that's SOME motivation...
But did she REALLY have to react the way she did? A LOT of kids smoke pot... Her reaction was unprecedented, and I just dropped the whole "Milly smokes pot" deal altogether.
It was random and stupid.

Another example of this:

George: "Hey, Kevin... You wanna join my super secret organization?"
Kevin: "Hmmm... I dunno... I AM just a teenager, you know, and you DID just meet me THE OTHER DAY..."
George: "Well, if you ever tell anyone about this, I'll have to kill you. 'Cause that's what super secret organizations do."
Kevin: "Oh, okay. I'll just reject your offer and never mention this to anyone."

...EXCUSE me?
WHAT?
REALLY?
Just think about what they blatantly stated in that conversation.

And - of course - there's still the lack of motivation for a villain. A VILLAIN ALWAYS NEEDS A MOTIVATION. THEY CAN NOT SIMPLY "FEEL LIKE" DOING SOMETHING VILLAINOUS.

An example:

Evil Bob: "MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm going to desroy the world!"
Paulette: "...Why?"
Evil Bob: "Because I... You know, I never really thought of that..."

YOU CAN'T JUST HAVE PEOPLE DO THINGS FOR THE HELL OF IT. They have to have a motivation, or else it WON'T MAKE SENSE.
You need to think about what you're having your character do and WHY they would do such a thing.
Yet again, THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO EVERYONE.

THIS ENDS MY RANT.

Okay, im just gonna speak for myself:

-Im revoking Karolina in LA RPG. I read Runaways, but im not an avid reader so i dont know too much about the character, i dont want to make her say, do something she normally wouldnt. I like to rp characters that i know alot about and shes not one of them, i cannot rp any characters from the comic book series simply because i dont know about theri personailities enough, and i dont want to change it. This is why i barely post in the LA RPG

-I was never a fan of Assassins. I feel most of the well known characters are taken. also the life of an assassin is solitary, idk how we can keep up an rpg with a bunch of solitary characters who dont really enjoy company. I know we have story lines where the assassins will have to work together...but really, were going to have to continue making storylines like that for our charcters to interact, other than trying to compete for a kill or injuring each other. This is why i cannot get into the Assassin's RPG

-With Origins, i cannot say. so far i believe it has potential, but i feel it will become another X-Men RPG, they cant stay students forever. I feel we'll just end up retelling story archs from the comics, rather than making our own...idk

-Fantasy...this is actually like. to allude to Sara, i feel that whenever i post an elaborate post, ppl respond with one liners and what i call "blah" post. Then i feel im carrying the enitre story on my back. I suppose it is currently my story line, but its going to be one of those big storylines with many small one inside of it. It wont be resolved in 5-15 pages, it may take longer.

-Ultimate....i feel ultimate is just moving to slow, idk y..idk if thas just me, i feel every post doesnt say anything, and were all just waiting to see what happens, so we post bull....thats bad on all our parts

-X-Men.....i cant say

I agree with all of Sam's points, particularly the first one about L.A.

Which brings me to a similar point:

It ANNOYS me when people (this doesn't apply to everyone) have never READ comics with their characters in them.
THIS IS CRUCIAL.
This is ROLEPLAYING, not FAN-FICTION. YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR CHARACTERS IN-CHARACTER.

An EXTREME example of not being in character:

Elektra: *hugs a puppy* "Who's the cutest puppy?! You are! YES, YOU ARE!" *snuggles the puppy*
*the puppy barks playfully*

Another example:

Batman: *kills someone*

Characters have DISTINCT personalities and quirks. You have to make sure to NOT treat them all the same and GIVE them those distinct personalities and quirks that their writers have worked so hard on.

im just gonna throw my 2 cents into this thing so here we go: I feel there is waaaaay to many rpg at one time, its hard to keep track of it all especially when a major event is occuring in one while nothing is happening in the other. One idea to solve this would be contiuous action in each rpg, but that would lead to sheer chaos after awhile because everyone would be scrambling to post in each rpg and inevitably miss things and slowly blow up in our faces. I suggest a time slot deal. Were one week we all focus on one rpg and thats it. or maybe even just one day of the week. something to organize so we can all participate.

The problem with that is that we're never on at the same time.

Yes, a big problem IS that we have too many RPGs.
Which is why I've refused to add Pokemon.
