Occupation: Reporter for "The Silver Hills Times", specializing in meta-human current events.
Powers and abilities: Carrie is not a meta-human. (GASP!) Due to this, she has no extraordinary powers of any sort.
Carrie is, however, a very skilled and gifted reporter.
She also has a brown belt in Tang Soo Do, taking classes regularly with her good friend, Serena Johnson.
Clothing and appearance: Carrie is average height, with shoulder-length, wavy blonde hair, which is interesting, considering she's 1/4 Chinese. This causes her to stand out from the rest of her family members, all of whom have straight, black hair. Her eyes are naturally brown, but she wears purple color contacts for the hell of it. Carrie has no particular fashion style, though she sometimes does tend to delve into "darker" fashion styles, most closely related to "emo" or "scene".
Background info: Carrie Swanson was born to Reginald and Mai Swanson, a middle-class, suburban family. As Carrie grew up, she became interested in journalism and participated in the school newspaper for the entirety of her middle school and high school careers. She majored in investigative journalism in college, and, afterwards, landed a spot at "The Silver Hills Times" as their reporter on meta-humans, one of Canamerica's most respected newspapers. Despite the fact that she is one of their leading reporters, her boss fails to remember her first name and calls her "Swanny". Since then, she has become good friends with Serena Johnson, a private investigator whose amazing, meta-human-related feats she often writes about in her articles.

"A story has to be finished, and no matter how distracted you get, you need to force yourself to forge ahead, word by word. If your idea is boring though, and that's why you're easy to distract...well, that's a really fantastic reason for not being able to focus on the task at hand! In that case, head back to the drawing board. And again, don't give up!"- Marjorie Liu, NYX: No Way Home interview
"Really? That's INANE. Most people in life don't HAVE great power, and the few that do are almost NEVER responsible with it. The people who have the greatest responsibility are the kids with NO POWER because we're the ones who have to keep everybody else in check."- Gertrude Yorkes, Runaways (vol. 2) #11
