The Updates Thread

*PLEASE, DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD*

Site updates:

- Obviously, I redid the site design.
The banner features characters that we - the five of us - have role-played as at some point... I get two 'cause I'm awesome like that.
  • Iceman - Pdub
  • Storm - Sam
  • Deadpool - Nathain
  • Cyclops - Cole
  • Fantomex - Eric
  • Layla Miller and Mystique - Me
Redemption Updates:

- I've decided to revoke the Redemption character limit, as it's been mostly ignored anyway... and I don't really see a point in it, actually. I mean, these are characters that WE'VE made... it's not like we're hogging up X-Men members or anything like that... I trust you guys to be able to properly judge the amount of characters that you can control and come up with stories for, as well as come up with some fairly UNIQUE characters.

- I've also revoked the rule banning "super" powers... You ARE, however, limited to TWO (2) characters with "super" powers... I still don't like them all too much, and I don't want them to be overused.

- I will probably be getting rid of the character roster as well, since there's no longer a character limit and, hence, no longer a need to keep track of characters.

- The "background info" thing we had going on about the history of the RPG and all that jazz will probably be moved to "Facebook".

Civil War Universe Updates:
(That means the one with the Assassins, X-Men, and L.A. RPGs, just be clear.)

- Considering making an overall "universe-wide" character-limit, rather than an RPG-specific character-limit. I think it would be more fun that way, as it would then free us up more to just bounce characters around to other RPGs and stuff like that... We'll vote on it, most likely.

- I will possibly be making a "recap" thread, giving a summary of what's happened so far in the RPG universe, so we can keep track of who died, who did what, etc, etc, so it would be easier for people to join in... It would probably involve a lot of work, however... It's just a possibility.

Ultimate RPG Update:

- Okay, this update... Well, it's an interesting update - one that I would normally have you guys vote on first... even though people hardly vote ANYWAYS - but this one... I have such an interesting (Well, I think so...) idea that I just have to do it no matter what you guys think... and we've kind of been doing it already, ANYWAYS (me having Wanda be a complete Psycho, Cole sort of making Gambit southern, Sam having Emma be a teenager, etc.)... But yeah. As of now - for the Ultimate RPG - you're allowed to create your own "Ultimate" version of Marvel characters... I'm not talking slight changes like "Oh, he has shorter hair now" or anything like that... I'm talking a total, Ultimate revamp. Like, what YOU would have done if YOU had been the writer of Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimates, etc. Of course, you can still stick with the ACTUAL Ultimate versions of the characters, but you can now completely revamp them into your OWN version.

Site Update

- Today I decided to check up on our board statistics... because that's what I do when I'm bored. I learned that we've almost beaten the number of posts that we had last month.

It's July SEVENTH.

It's hilarious how much more active we become once school's done.

Civil War Universe Update

I've started laying the seeds for our next "big" crossover... which will NOT involve someone taking over the United States. We've done that a million times already. And no... nobody's going to be trying to eliminate the mutants or the humans... Well, not in the USUAL way... This one will - hopefully - be shorter and less crazy... though it will still be extremely complex with the set-up.

Characters/things to watch:

- Serafina (X-Men)
- the Danger Room Console (X-Men, obviously)
- Osborn and the mysterious figure who kidnapped him (X-Men, most likely)
- Lotus (L.A.)
- Elektra's mysterious, all-knowing benefactor, who isn't Layla Miller, FYI (Assassins)

This will be another mutant-heavy crossover... Next time around, I'll try for something more Marvel Universe-oriented, but this is what I brainstormed at work the other day when I realized that I could actually fit everything together.

RE: The Updates Thread - Updated 7/9/09

Site Update

- I'm going to start up a "Perpetual Recap" page, which I will try to update every day, basically recapping what has gone on in the RPGs during that day... I think one of my major reasons for a lack of participation is the story moving along too fast while you're gone and being too lazy to ask for a recap. Hopefully, this will help solve that problem... This will be in place of the "RPG History" idea I'd come up with awhile back.

I CURRENTLY DON'T PARTICIPATE IN THE FANTASY RPG (still can't find I character I'm interested enough in to stick with, as noted by Setsuka's vicious murder of Kate) AND THE HARRY POTTER RPG (just not interested enough in Harry Potter), SO IT WOULD BE GREAT IF SOMEONE ELSE COULD DO THE RECAPS FOR THOSE, PARTICULAR, RPGs.

Civil War Universe Update
- The mutant-heavy crossover didn't happen... I felt like getting it over with quickly, so Pdub and I just had it all happen in X-Men.
- The X-Men, L.A., and Assassins RPGs are going to get replaced with a Genosha and Marvel Universe RPG.
- It would be nice if people HELPED TO PLAN OUT the two new RPGs.

X-Men: Origins Update
- The X-Men: Origins RPG has been closed.
