Exiles Discussion

Hey, just wanted to talk about Exiles here. I picked it up a few months before Claremont took the helm of it, and I thought that it was pretty good so I stuck with it. Then, Claremont took control, and, I'll be honest even though he's one of my favorite writers, his first story pretty much sucked. It was good at first, but then it all just went downhill; he was just focusing on Betsy a little too much, and the story just wasn't too interesting. Then I picked up the issue taking place after the first story, and I liked it so much more.

What do you guys think about Claremont's run?

In that case, head back to the drawing board. And again, don't give up!" - Marjorie Liu, NYX: No Way Home interview

...Pdub's still cooler than meh. Also: Sam. Nobody is cooler than Sam. Not even Sara. For Sam is the Queen of ze cool... I must murder her. Viciously. With a panda. Also: salsa. And a side of footie pajamas.

I don't really think that you'll enjoy Exiles much unless you like stories that are almost solely about Psylocke. Sure, the rest of the Exiles get thrown in the background, but she's still essentially the main character. After all, Claremont loves women with big boogs. lol. Joking about that last part.

Really? So you enjoyed the inconsistencies in Claremont's first story...?

I picked up the new Exiles today, and Claremont's got his game back. And I have to say that I do love Psylocke's new, less revealing, costume. It's nothing compared to her HoM costume, but it's still cool. I hope she keeps it.

As for the story: I think it's pretty interesting, and I think the inclusion of an alternate Kitty Pryde is a nice touch. Claremont's really making the book his own, and I absolutely love it. In my opinion, this is the best that Claremont's writing has been since he wrote the "End of the Greys" or whatever when Rachel's family got massacred by the Shi'Ar and they branded her with the deathmark.
