1) A profile MUST be made if you have a made up character.
2) A profile SHOULD (it doesn't have to be) made if you're using a Marvel character with a drastically altered past or present. (ex: You make Emma Frost a 13 year old red-head that used to be a Morlock or you make Cyclops a former member of the Brotherhood.) 3) A profile MUST contain the character's name, their age, their codename (Well, if they have one.), their relatives, background info (Like how their powers manifested, how they wound up where they are, etc.), (OPTIONALLY) a description of their uniform, and their powers (If they have any.). 4) If a profile is made for a changed Marvel character, then the thread's title MUST say '[insert character name here](changed Marvel character)'.
5) (THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE) NO UBER-POWERFUL CHARACTERS!

"A story has to be finished, and no matter how distracted you get, you need to force yourself to forge ahead, word by word. If your idea is boring though, and that's why you're easy to distract...well, that's a really fantastic reason for not being able to focus on the task at hand! In that case, head back to the drawing board. And again, don't give up!"- Marjorie Liu, NYX: No Way Home interview
"Really? That's INANE. Most people in life don't HAVE great power, and the few that do are almost NEVER responsible with it. The people who have the greatest responsibility are the kids with NO POWER because we're the ones who have to keep everybody else in check."- Gertrude Yorkes, Runaways (vol. 2) #11
