In the owners childhood the daemon shapeshifts constantly, but once the owner goes through puberty and becomes an adult, the daemon keeps a shape that most personifies the owner. If an owner is killed , its daemon fades away and if the owner or daemon is seperated, both begin to weaken physically and mentally.
